This North American shrub enjoys heavy shade, as plants grow wild deep in mountain woods. They slowly spread to form attractive ground cover, effectively suppressing all weeds. ‘Rainbow’ is an extravagantly marked foliage plant that differs from the others by needing light shade or even dappled sun to maintain its bright colours.
